The Nikon D5600
Lightweight and compact, The Nikon D5600 Stylish, Small, Simple and Clever is less than half the weight of the S810 or D850. Attached with one of Nikon’s retractable 18-55mm VR lenses. It’s perfect for traveling light. And not just for holidays and travel as such, it’s ideal for carrying with you on days out, and even your daily commute. You’ll stand a much better chance of getting great shots because you’re less likely to leave your camera at home.
The D5600 is also a great camera for shooting from tricky angles, thanks to its fully articulated ‘vari-angle’ touchscreen. It’s well-connected too, with WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth, so you can link your camera and smartphone for use with Nikon’s Snap-bridge app.
It’s not an overly sporty camera, with a 5fps burst rate and limited buffer space for 11-17 Raw shots (depending on bit-depth and compression settings). Even so, its 39-point auto-focus system is good at tracking action, and the 24.2Mp image sensor and EXPEED 4 processor deliver richly detailed high-quality images. Nikon D5600 Stylish, Small, Simple and Clever in term of every aspect.
Next, to the lens on the left-hand side of the camera, there are a few extra buttons which are useful, too. There’s an Fn button which can be assigned to a variety of functions, such as ISO or White Balance. There’s also a drive mode button which allows you to move between functions such as single shooting, continuous shooting, and timer. You can also select Quiet shooting – which is designed for shooting in quiet locations. In reality, it sounds almost exactly as loud as the standard shutter release.
